The

O'Connor Family

Please join us in welcoming the O'Connors to the True North family!

We are thrilled to introduce Deb and John O’Connor as part of the True North family!

Thank you both for trusting us with this exciting chapter and allowing us to help bring your dream home to life.

For Deb and John, the journey began during the Parade of Homes, where they toured several of True North’s townhomes. "We were immediately drawn to the style, design, and use of materials," they shared. The open floor plans, abundant natural light, and contemporary touches left a lasting impression. “The homes were bright, clean, and well-constructed—it just felt right.”

Though this isn’t their first custom build, Deb and John knew this home needed to be different. Entering retirement, their goal was to downsize from their previous home into something more manageable without sacrificing the ability to entertain and enjoy thoughtful upgrades. Initially considering an existing home, they realized the cost of remodeling wouldn’t get them the design or layout they truly wanted. “Once we started adding up the changes we’d need to make, it became clear building new was the better choice.”

They approached this build with care, fully aware of the complexities that come with today’s market. Rising costs, fast-paced decisions, and endless design options could have been overwhelming, but the support of our in-house designer, Kelli, made all the difference. “She was so knowledgeable—not just about design, but about quality and pricing too. She worked within our allowances and guided us toward great choices. We never felt pressured.”

The O’Connors designed their home with hosting in mind. Their open-concept living space, anchored by a large kitchen and expansive sliding doors, will extend onto a deck that’s perfect for relaxed evenings and entertaining friends. “We love that the outdoors can become part of the experience. Those large sliders really bring the outside in.”

Some of their must-haves included plenty of natural light, a walkout basement with a spacious patio, and a modern, fresh approach to materials and layout. “We were never discouraged from trying something new. The team always worked with us to make every detail look great.”

After living in a villa for several years, this move represents a return to space, comfort, and connection. “We haven’t had the room to host in quite a while. Now, we’ll have space for visiting friends and even a yard again—which we’ve really missed.”

While the home is designed for two, it’s future-ready. Wider hallways and fewer steps ensure the O’Connors can enjoy their space for years to come. They even added deck steps just in case a future furry friend joins the family—or for when their kids' pets come to visit.

We can’t wait to see how this new space becomes home for Deb and John, and how it will host many joyful gatherings in the years ahead.
